Last week at my conference I wanted a break that consisted of time alone so I could read. Unfortunately that didn’t happen for three days, I only managed to read a chapter at a time and it’s so hard to stop at one chapter. I enjoyed being social but after a few days I was ready for it to be over.

Especially when that pile grew last week.

Me today when I should be getting ready to go back to work after being gone last week then having a four-day weekend.

I have the problem of not being able to tell what is my all time favorite, forget trying to pick five.

If you’ve ever been in a book slump before then finally found that one that speaks to you, you know this feeling.

Sometimes when I watch a book trailer or see the cover of a book and what the characters “look” like, then when I read the book, I’m like nope that picture doesn’t work that’s not the picture my brain imagines. But their actions and words are what suck me in.

I’ve done this a time or two before, sometimes they look at me like I’m crazy. But I guess they’re just annoyed with me because I broke the cardinal sin and interrupted them. You would think being at a library conference it would be okay but nope not even then.

My youngest daughter does this to her shows all the time. My husband asked me one day where she got it from, then a few minutes later I started yelling at my book and he’s like “Oh I see, that’s where she got it from.” She is my little mini me after all.
