So true especially when you find that one that speaks to you even if it’s 2 am and you have to work the next day.

Shortage of space is a major issue I have right now. I’ve had to result in pushing my books all the way to the back of the shelf and stacking others in front of them. Not cool.

What happens when you have a thief break into your home one evening? You hire his daughter to come and live with you and become your accountant.
When Andrew is awoken from sleep with a loud commotion coming from his office he hurries down to see who has broken into his home. He is surprised to find Rick and old friend of his late father digging through stuff looking for something to steal. Andrew gives him two options, one to leave via hospital or two leave via jail. Rick gets smart and tells him he will take option three of which Andrew tells him there is no other option. Trying to save his hide, Rick mentions the fact that Andrew is having accounting problems and that his daughter Sophia has her degree in accounting, hoping that she could come work for him in exchange for his freedom.
When Sophia’s dad tells her he needs a favor and acts all sketchy around her, she knows something is not right. He informs her that he had made a deal for her to work at Andrew’s doing the books because she’s the best and can figure out what was wrong. She agrees to help him and goes to work for Andrew. When she shows up Monday morning, her first meeting with Andrew is not a pleasant one. Liam, Andrew’s long time butler and friend, gives Sophia a tour of the mansion. He shows her her office and her room and bathroom, and she learns her dad left out some pertinent information when he asked her for help.
The first few days of working for Andrew do not go smoothly by any means. Talk about a paranoid man, always thinking the worst of Sophia but still lusting after her. Sophia makes progress going through the books finding a few indescrepencies here and there. Andrew asked Sophia if she wanted to accompany him to Africa on a dig. While there, they get closer and she worries when they get home if it will all change. Well something does change between them when she learns of the truth of what her father did and why she is really there.
Once again I am excited for the extended epilogue. It was nice to see what happened when the story was “over”. It really filled in all the holes for their HEA. Such a great read. I received an ARC of this book for my honest, voluntary review.

I have commercials when reading when someone pretends to not see the book in my hand and talk to me until I give them attention.

Weather forecast for today has been off and on storms, power already went out once. Perfect day for reading.

Some Friday’s I feel like an old woman then I tell myself, “I’m not old, I’m just expanding my living by staying home instead of going out”.

I always end up trying to find the next best thing but end up skimming through a couple of books before I find that one that just sticks with me.

I don’t resist I just hang out with the younger people who all have their noses in their phone’s so they never notice anyways.

I told my husband he needs to clean out the shed that it was full of junk and I am tired of him hoarding everything, his response was to tell me to clean the junk out of the living room. Umm excuse me but books are not junk.

I am usually a big R.R. Banks fan, as I am coming off from reading Surprise Delivery which is a must read, but this one, I don’t know, it seemed to be a little wordy.
Jace, who is an uptight, cold-hearted rich guy who has started his own company; then you have Kara, who is still down on her luck after her father passed away six years ago, and is doing menial jobs just to get by.
They had went to college together back in New York years ago, and briefly dated while there, with their break up happening in a bad way. Now, years later, they are both in California living their own lives when their paths cross in an unexpected way. Kara applies for a PA position at APEX, Jace’s company, without knowing he is the man behind the company. It comes down to her and another applicant, and with Jace having the final say, he picks her.
At first they have just a professional working relationship, all the while they both have “feelings” for each other. After some time and a business trip later, they have both a personal and professional relationship going on. After they land a big job, the company takes a trip to Vegas to celebrate and blow off steam before they get busy and start working late nights. After a night of drinking and talking, Jace pops the questions and they decide to get married. Things do not stay peachy as Kara has a stalker that has been following and threatening her, despite the fact there is a restraining order on him. Daniel, her stalker, has even threatened Jace to stay away or else, well that ‘or else’ happened while they were in Vegas, cutting their trip short.
After some bumps on their journey they finally get their HEA. They both grow up over the course of this book, but I just feel like there was extra in some of the chapters that could’ve been left out and still made a wonderful book. I will be reading more from R.R. Banks in the future.
